Indonesia is one of the countries in the world which has large tropical forest reserve. This forest has been the traditional source of livelihood for the people living around it who are slash and burn agriculturists. Recent forest industrialization launched by the GOI has developed a conflict of interest between the private companies which were given the concession by the GOI to exploit the forest and those slash and burn agriculturists who felt that their right of access to the solve the problem by resettling the local people and change their farming practice failed due to lack of participation of the people and lack of knowledge among the various departments in charge of the program on the nature of the local farming system.
