Isi artikelThe impact of joint action-based early language intervention on the vocabulary development and socio-communicative word usage of four developmentally delayed children was investigated in this study. Results from pre- and post-intervention language samples revealed increases in vocabulary size, especially for object words, for all children. Improvement in socio-communicative word usage on repeated communication tasks was variable across children, which may have been due to procedural limitations. Improvements in mother-child interaction were generally consistent with the goals of intervention.
