Based on various studies on the life of traditional rural society which have ever done, there is a red line how essential it is the studies at the local/regional level and how relatively important it is the positions and roles of the traditional rural society, which is usually marginalised, in the constellation of the social, cultural, and political life at the national level. The result of study of traditional fisherman at Bandaran Village, Pamekasan shows that there is a close relation between economic activities and the social and cultural aspect of the local community.
