This article is based on a research conducted to investigate the effects of some factors (cash position, debt to equity ratio, growth potential, and return on assets) to dividend payout ratio, befor and during financial crisis in 1997. Pooling data from 186 active companies listed in Jakarta Stock Exchange covering crisis period before the crisis (1994-1996) as well as during the crisis (1998-2000) resulted in 62 companies served as samples. Regression model was used to analyze the data. The result of the researh supporterd ealier findings that showed that independetly, all factors being analyzed were significantly influence divident pay out ratio. The influenced, however, was bigger before the crisis than during the crisis.
