As a literary work, novel functions as dulce et utile, and is interesting as well as useful. One of indonesian women writers deserving to be discussed is Djenar Maesa Ayu (DMA) with her novel entitled Nayla (N). The novel conveys a lot of spiritual teaching to the readers since it contains psychological experence concerning sociocultural espects, especially gender and feminism perspectives. The power of attraction of the novel lies on the narrative from used by DMA.
