Isi artikel
The present crisis has really rocked the Indonesian economy. This year the economy is predicted to contract by 13-15%. Paul Krugman an economist from MIT USA, commented that the situation and condition in Indonesia is the worst since World War II. The situation has been made even worse by to the high inflation rate, which was predicted at 75-80% up until October. The symptomps are discernible from the increasing number of people living below the poverty line, a figure that has jumped from 22.5 million in 1996 to 80 million in 1998.
