Isi artikel
Drwaing up what he calls a simplified scorecard on the state of the world economy today, a prominent U.S. central banker suggests that while there are tenuous signs that events may be beginning to unfold in the direction of sustained sriwth for the global economy, "the fact remains that the adjustment path will be long and difficult and will require appropriately supportive policies along the way." A 19-year veteran of the Federal Reserve System, E. Gerald Corrigan became president of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York in January 1985 after serving for more than four years as president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis. This article is abridged from Dr. Corrigan's remarks before the Boston (Massachusetts) Economic Club on June 8, 1987.
