Isi artikelForty-four percent-that's the percentage of all-electric injection molding machines below 200 tons sold in North America and that, prior to June and the Stateside launch of its e-max line, Austrian machinery manufacturer Engel (Schwertberg) couldn't serve. "By units, it was almost half the market that we couldn't bid on," explained Engel North American President Stephan Braig speaking from his company's regional headquarters in York, PA. "That sector is growing and becoming more important." Following a pre-launch at K and a European road show in the spring, Engel brought the e-max to the U.S. in June, running a 110-ton model during its annual Medical Days event (for initial report on the e-max, see the K Review in MPW's January 2008 issue).
