On last December 5, 1993 in Geneva, Switzerland, Peter Sutherland as the Director General of GATT, has officially approved the Uruguay Round Final Act. This approval, the negotiations of which have the representatives of 117 countries diligently occupied, is expected to reduce around 40 percent of the import tariffs, create much more trade, work opportunities, the enhancement of the income growth, and be able to cope with the structural recession in several countries.
