The global need for vegetable oil and fat can at present be fulfilled by various kinds of commodities, among others coconut, soybean, sunflower, oil palm, peanut and corn. Out of so many vegetable oil and fat materials as mentioned, the oil palm commodity plays an important and gradually increasing role. In the last decade, the average palm oil segment inrespect of the global need for vegetable oil and fat is only around 8% per year, but at present it has reached around 15%. The increase in the use of this palm oil is especially caused by its quite low cholesterol content, i.e. nearly the same as the soybean oil cholesterol level.
