He was a caring citizen. Medicine is a caring humanitarian profession. In the past few decades however, the rapid growth of science and technology has virtually transformed physicians from the classic profile of humanists to that of competent technologist. Global political, social and economic changes have also shaken the foundation of medical ethics this century.
