Isi artikel
In the last century modern medicine made it possible to prevent and treat illness. Neverthless, since the beginning of human existence people are born and people will die. A hundred years ago mean European longevity was 49 years. More than 50% of population died before the age of 20. Today, in the industrialised world, more than half of us will reach the age of 80 years or more, and children account for fewer than 1% of all deaths.
