Jesus reproves those he is speaking to for being able to predict, in their daily lives, drought or rain by the colours of the sky, but for not being able to perceive the signs of the ties-- that is to say, the very signs of the arrival of the Messiah and the Kingdom of God which he begins and announces -- whether the miracles performed or signs made by Jesus, or the pre-eminent sign, he himself.
