The question of the identity of the Catholic chaplain in the health care ministry is of great contemporary relevance, especially in those Churches where there is a strong fall in the number of priestly vocations and where the question is raised, on the basis of an eccesiology of communion, whether it might not be a good idea to take into consideration other models of the figure of the chaplain.
