Isi artikel
Recent trends in Indonesia history suggest a fruitful point at which two major fields of research might begin to converge: one is the growing body of literature on environmental history, the other is the abundant scholarships on social history and identity in colonial contexts. Studies of indigenous and colonial land-use patterns, conservation policies and practices, and Asian attitudes towards landscape and nature are some of the recent scholarly sojourns into Indonesia's colonial past.
