A substantial number of patients with hypertension are undertreated, and over two-thirds of hypertensive patients will require more than one antihypertensive agent to achieve adequate blood pressure control. British, European and American hypertension society guidelines encourage the use of effective drug combinations. This article reviews the role of amlopidine /valsartan fixed dose combination in the treatment of hypertension.
