Isi artikel
Toleration has not been a serious topic of discussion in bioethics. Rather, it is often treated very casually as something of a slogan or banality. Confronted with significant moral disagreements, people often dismiss differences as realities that simply have to be tolerated. Such casual attitudes toward toleration fail to understand the serious nature of the moral differences and the underlying moral commitments. When the opinions of others are seen as a threat to society, or the actions of some are seen as harmful to others, it is not as easy to tolerate the views of others.
