The aim of this research is to uncover differences in academic achievement between scholarship and self-financed students who registered at Diploma II Preschool Teacher Education study program. The research had been conducted in Jakarta’s regional center of Universitas Terbuka Jakarta during the first semester of 2005. The research employed expost facto method. Using a purposive random sampling method a number of 20 scholarship students and 20 self-financed students were chosen as samples. Collected data were analyzed using T-test. The result of analysis shows that t-score (3.61) is higher than t-table (1.68) at alpha 0.,05. It can be concluded that there is significant difference in student achievement score between scholarship and self-financed students who are studying in Diploma II PGTK Program in semester first semester of 2005.
