Isi artikelThis research is concentrated on the language of Melayu Langkat. It is accomplished to describe the process of adjectival formation into noun in the language of Melayu Langkat through two morphemical processes i.e the process of affixation and reduplication viewed from the aspect of morphology and semantics. Nominalization is defined as the process of nominal formation. Nominalization may occur through two morphemical processes i.e. affixation and reduplication. Nominalization through affixation includes prefixes “pen-“, and “ke-“, suffixes” –an” and “–nya”, convixes “ke-an”, “pen-an”, “per-an”, and “ken-an”. Nominalization through reduplication in the language of Melayu Langkat occurs in four types of reduplications i.e. 1.fully reduplication, 2.partly reduplication, 3.affixed reduplication and 4.reduplication with the change of phoneme. Adjectival nominalization in the language of Melayu Langkat through affixation process includes prefixation, suffixation and confixation.
