Isi artikelPlantsbrook is an eight form entry school for students comprehensive school, might be considered to be ’ordinary’ circumstances. It is located in the outer Birmingham conurbation. Though Sutton Coldfield is well placed economically, the school itself can not be categorised as ’leafily suburban’. Indeed, it actively encourages students from a wide social mix. Its closest neighbours are two selective schools. As a consequence the intake includes few students with higher quartile cognitive ability scores. There is a unit for sixteen visually impaired students on site and significantly, there is a relatively high number of students with statements of special educational need. Approximately 17% of students qualify for free school meals. Furthermore, Plantsbrook proclaims its comprehensive character as a matter of pride.
