Not to be confusedwith the neighboring CBOT or the Chicago Mercantile Exchange,CHX ,as it's called, is now the only original remaining of the hundeds of city bourses that once helped 19th-century bourses turn into hubs. To survive, the regionals have been finding suitors. L.A. and San Francisco were bought by NSYE in 2005, and Nasdaq scooped up Boston and Philadelphia last year.
