Isi artikelThe complex case of Distribution Problem or Vehicle Routing Problem (VRP) that consists of delivery time window, probabilistic demand, probabilistic travel time, limited number and type of vehicle, and limited route is very hard to solve analytically. In this case, using a simulation study is convenience to make a decision according the problem. This paper demonstrates a decision making process that conduct via simulation study in a complex case of distribution problem. The case problem decisions are number and type of vehicle used for distributing goods, and the departure time of each distributing vehicle. The simulation study consist of several steps: generating solution alternative via heuristic approach, modeling each alternative through simulation model, running the simulation mode,1 and analyzing the simulation results. The decisive factors used in the problem are mean travel time, mean late time, mean excessive product, and mean loss demand These factors are evaluated simultaneously by using confidence interval which consider Bonferonni inequality and comparing via all pairwise comparison for all alternatives. Terminating simulation is used for this study A variance reduction technique with common random number is used as tool to reduce comparison bias.
