The study analyzes results of higher institutions p articipation in n ational Research E xcellence programs to determine differences in number of REs .based on individual and collaborative studies. This study used secondary data of documents and grouped REs into individual and collaborative studies. Method of analysis used non-parametric Chi square tests. The result of the analysis was that there were differences in number of REs. The number of collaborative studies was more than individual studies, so that there was a tendency for higher institutions to conduct more collaborative work.
