This research aims to identify the rate on linkages among sectors and key sectors in the Indonesian economic structure. The source of data is the 19-sectors classification from the indonesian input-output table 1085. This table is a summary of 66-sectors classification, published by the Central Bureau of Statistics in 1990. The results show that sectors which have high forwarf linkages are electricity, gas and drinking water; food, beverage and tobacco industries; restaurant and hotels; animal husbandry and their product; building; transportation and communications; oil refinery; services; other industries; and other agricultural crops. On the other hand, sectors that have high backward linkages are mining and digging; oil refinery; trade; rice; animal husbandry and their products; transportation and communication; financial institution, building business and company services; food, beverage and tobacco industries; other industries; and other agricultural crops. Beside, other sectors that have tobacco industries; and other food crops. However, the food, beverage and tobacco industries; and animal husbandry and their products constitute key sectors in the Indonesia economy because they have high forward linkages as well as high employment linkages. The linkages and industrial sector in the Indonesian ecomony structure are relatively weak, shown by their relatively low forward and backward linkages coefficient. In addition to the identified key sectors in the development planning, there is a need for the government to be pay much more attention to the rice sectors because it is able to utulize other sector output and absorb many labours.
