This study determined etiology of bird deaths in captivity. There are 64 species of birds of variety of families of dead birds of a variety of families of dead birds collected from Bird Market in Jalan Pramuka, East Jakarta. In the laboratory surgical operation of carcass was performed, and specimen used was shaved lungs. Aspetically, specimen is cut into pieces of 2-3 mm, washed in antibiotic solution containing 0.05 mg/mL of chloramphhenicol 6 times, subsequently, specimen is planted into 7 plant points. Macroscopically, some plant point showed pure growth of Aspergillus sp. Microscopically, Aspergillus fumigatus, Aspergillus flavus, Aspergillus niger, and Aspergillus terreus. The results showed that 41 birds died of Aspergillus sp. (64.06%) consisting of A. fumigatus (50.00%), A. Flavus (10.94%0, A. Niger (1.56%), and A. terreus (1.56%). Most cases (59.37%) occured during rainy days (October-December), while the remaining (40.63%) occured during dry season (August-September).
