Informal bussiness (trading) sector arise in urban area together with population growth and uncontrollable urbanization. Informal traders in Pontianak can be found along the street, in front of the mall or traditional market and public area. The informal traders sell any kinds of goods disorganized. This situation causes serious matter such as traffic jam and dirtiness that need solution. Many people, on the other hand, need the informal traders in many reason for both competitive price and ease. Thc problem is whether they must be eliminated or managed ?. The research found many policy alternatives solution. They are relocation policy, structural policy, and educative policy for traders. Relocation policy means to move them to certain area. Structural policy means to formulate local regional about their bussiness area. Educative policy means to develop them in management capital. The policies implementation faced many problems. Pontianak government must involve them in policy formulation using society participatory development, inventory and follow up their complaint and change repressive approach model to persuasive approach model.
