This paper discusses the English verb and noun stress. The general points of the paper are elaborating the word stress of monosyllabic and polysyllabic words of nouns and verbs, including conversions by analyzing its syllable structure and its requirements and generalizing word stress regularities and exceptions. As previously explored noun and verbs stress we have certainly been assured that word stress of nouns and verbs are well-patterned basing on the syllable structure in order to predict their stress pattern. However, in those regularities we have also found the peculiarities of word stress but it is limited and predictable only to a certain degree.
