This study was an attempt of aiming at finding whether there was different effect between cooperative learning and explanation on the students’ achievement in learning Physsics. The subcts of the study were students of a private junior school in Surabaya. The study revealed that the students taught using cooperative lerning got better achievement than those taught with exaplanation.
