Abstract
Previous research has found that discrepancies between personal, professional, and workplace values can be a source of job stress (Edwards, 1992). The more important a discrepancy is to an employee, the greater the level of perceived job stress. This study used survey responses from 101 Information Systems professionals to examine whether professional and organizational commitment moderate the relationship between discrepancies and job stress. Secondly, the relationships among organizational commitment, job stress, organization citizenship behavior and organizational misbehavior were studied.
