Corporate governance is adtninistering the companies in relation to other parties with their different interests for managing the companies. This research tries to find out the empirical evidence of determinants affecting the company characteristics, such as growth opportuntties, ownership concentration, leverage, assets composition, firm size, and regulation factors affecting the quality of corporate governance implementation in company. This research uses sample of 65 listed companies in Jakarta Stock Exchange for the period of2001-2004. The result of this research shows that assets composition variable implemented in companies and banking industries affects corporate governance implemented by the companies. Assets composition variable negatively affects the quality of corporate governance in the companics, whereas banking industries positively affects the quality of corporate governance in companies. This research also finds that corporate governance implementation in banking industries islower than non banking industries.
