Isi artikel
in the last decade, the amount of Indonesian career women who remain single is increasing. Traditionally, South East and East Asia women is being forced to be marry. In this region, attitude toward living single among women is negative. When attitude predicts behaviour and other psychological aspects, single women with negative attitude will experience anxiety. In this research, 190 career women who live in JABODETABEK, with well education background were sampled accidentally. The result shows that thefamily and co-worker of these women are still believe that women should be married (M = 2,16 and 2,25; scale 1-4). Although this significant other's attitude correlates with respondent's atittude significantly (rw-fam = 0, 475; rw-cw = 0. 488; P < 0.05), the attitudes toward living single of these women tend to neutral (M = 2.68, SD = 0,38) instead of negative. The anxiety toward living single is relative low (M= 1.67; SD = 0.54). As expected, correlation between attitude and anxiety is significantly negative (ratt-anx = -0.497; P < 0.05). This research should be enriched by in-depth interview to give a comprehensive understanding of these fenomena.
