This research has two objectives: (1) to examine the relationship between self concept and oral communication anxiety among adolescences; (2) to examine whether there is a gender difference on the level of communication anxiety. Using 60 students of the Farmasi Bina Farma of Madiun as a sample, consisting of 36 boys and 24 girls, data were collected using questionnaires. The first questionnare was measured the level of oral communication anxiety, while the second was assessed the levels of self-concept. Data were analyzed statistically using linier regression and analysis of variance. This research findings showed that there was a positive relationship between the degree of self-concept and the level of oral communication anxiety among adolescence. Furthermore, the boys had a higher level of oral communication anxiety than the girls. The implications of this finding was discussed.
