Isi artikelRetinal vein occlusion is the most retinal vein disorders in most centre of ocular health. Several condition is correlated to retinal vein occlision eg : aging, hypertension hyperlipidemia, smoking and obesity. this study was to see systemic disorders that happened in patients with retinal vein occlusion in dr. Saiful Anwar Hospital Malang during 2005. A retrospective review of patients with retinal vein occlusion who are admitted as the outpatient vitreo-retina clinic in dr Saiful Anwar Hospital Malang during January to Desember 2005 was done. The data were collected from medical records. The patient's age, sex, visual acuity, and history of systemic disease were recorded. There were 69 patients with retinal vein occlusion, 26 patients had central retinal vein occlusion (CRVO) and 43 patients had branch retinal vein occlusion (BRVO). They consisted of 28 males and 41 females. The age distribution were as follows : >51 years old was 66,6%; 41-50 years old was 18,8%; 20-40 years old was 13,0%; and <20 years old was 1,4%, with mean age 54,7 ± 13,9. The visual acuity were worse than 4/60 in 43,76% patients, 5/60-5/30 in 27,53% patients, >5/30-5/12 in 8,69% patient, and >5/12 in 4,34% patients. The systemic disorders in patients with retinal vein occlusion included hypertension in 63,7% patients; dyslipidemia in 21,7% patients; diabetes melitus in 20,2% patients; azotemia in 8,6% patients; obesity in 5,79% patients. Futhermore each of rhinitis , leukositosis, and tuberculosis occured in 4,3% patients; hyperuricemia, heart failure, thrombositisos, tension headache, dhearrea, dysuria, stroke, hyperuricemia, meniere syndrome, and neuropathy occured in 2,8% patients each. In addition, it was found that other systemic disorders occured in 1,4% patients each. Most patients with retinal vein occlusion who visited the outpatients vitreoretinal clinic in dr. Saiful Anwar Hospital Maland during January 2005 to December 2005 suffered from hypertension, dyslipidemia, diabetes melitus, azotemia, and obesity.
