Isi artikelThe variation of composition chimasorb and irganox on polypropylene matrix has been done for getting the dtrong agriculture's plastic regarding degradation and weather especially sun light. Mixing process is done by blending in laboplastomill at 180 degree C for 7 minutes with speed 40 Rpm. Plastic film was made at 0,5 m thickness by pressures 150 kg/cm kuadrat in hot press machine at 180 degree C than following by cold press machine. The number of additives added were 3%, 5%, 8% for chimasorb and 2%, 4%, 6% for irganox. The parameters observation were tensile strength, elongation at break and microstructure. Plastic film were exposure by sunlight for 2, 4, 8 weeks, and ageing test for 10, 20, 40 hours in 150 degree C geer oven. The experimental result showed that increasing the additive (chimasorb and irganox) concentrations did not gave any difference on tensile stength value, but elongation at break value shows significant difference. In both exposure and ageing test showed that chimasorb and irganox additives can reduces the degradation rate of polypropylene, but degradation rate faster in ageing test compared to exposures test.
