Isi artikelThis paper describes design and implementation of Electronic Hijri Calendar System based on AT89S51 microcontroller. There are only three main components, i.e. MCU, RTC, and LCD. Time information (hour, minute, and second) are generated by RTC-1287. Because the RTC-1287 works on solar (Gregorian) calendar system, it must be changed to Hijri (Islamic) calendar using microcontroller programming and saved the time in RTC-1287 again. The main difference between Hijri calendar and Gregorian calendar is in its date changing. In Gregorian date changes on 00.00, but in Hijri calendar date changes on sunset (or Maghrib Time). But in this implementation, date changes on 18.00 o'clock. From the experiment result it was found that its accuracy is 95.75%.
