Over through the years, database and its development have been based on entity-relationship data model (E-R model). E-R model is expressed in terms of entities in the business environment, the relationship among those entities. and the attributes of both the entities and their relationships. Late, database and application development are undergoing a revolution that is based on objects. The Object Oriented Data Model (OODM) is considered to be applied instead of E-R model. The benefit is that users will be able to create generic, all purpose components that can be reused in multiple applications. This paper will focus on the OODM and its use during the analysis phase of database development process.
