The fundamental changes that happened in Indonesia sugar industry in the early 1998 were sugar marketing demonopoly including abolition of import monopoly by BULOG, and the cancelation of TRI program. This research is done to see the influence of the changes that happened to the sugar industry with forecasting, sugar cane supply with regression method, sugar cane bussiness performance by financial analizing, and the sugar cane farmer’s interest with descriptive analizing. Actually demonopoly have made Indonesia becomes more depending to imported sugar. The direct influence was the increasing of domestic sugar price that made the BCR value of sugar cane bussiness from 1.82 in 1994 became 2.44 in 1998. At that time, the sugar cane supply was influenced by producer price. Then the abolition of import monopoly and (lie zero tariffs have made imported sugar more and more, it made the domestic sugar price drastically decrease. The BCR value decreased becomes 1.38 in 1999. At that time, the sugar cane supply is most influenced by market sugar price. It is also supported by the high sensitivity of market sugar price of the farmer’s profit. These changes also decreases the farmer’s perception and interest in doing the sugar cane bussiness, so in the short term the sugar cane supply still can be expected. The sugar cane bussiness’ prospect is still potentially enough, it can be seen from the increased national sugar consumption per year, the BCR value is more than 1 and the high of sugar cane farmer’s perception and interest in this time. To increase the sugar canes supply, it is important for sugar factory to concentrate in the extentivication of the irrigated field cause it influences the sugar cane supply.
