If home health agencies expect to survive and thrive under the Prospective Payment System (PPS), conducting a comprehensive analysis of wound care practice is critical. Agencies need to develop policies for practicing smart wound care. It makes good financial sense to enlist the expertise of wound care experts who can (a) ensure appropriate admissions; (b) develop standardized, effective treatment plans; and (c) control supply costs.
