Isi artikelThe plane hijackings and terrorist attacks on New York City’s World Trade Center and the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., on September 11, 2001, may be affecting your clients. Hundreds of thousands of people may be experiencing enduring psychological effects because the September 11 atrocity was deliberate and involved enormous numbers of casualties, including those who only watched the events unfold on television. Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is one of the enduring consequences of traumatic experiences, which can have devastating effects on clients’ physical and mental health (Graham, 2001; Jankowsi, 2000).
