CCL4 is toxic compounds which is used as lipid solvent in the laboratory. If there is an exposure of CCL4 in the body, though it is only a little, may cause hepato toxic (hepar damage). The mechanism of hepato toxic caused by CCL4 is the chain reaction from free radical which is greater than the endogen antioxidant system. Such free radical will directly damage the lipid peroxide cell membrane, protein, carbohydrate, and DNA in such away that may form MDA (Malondialdehyde) as the biomarker of oxidative stress. The prevention on such free radical is by supplying antioxidant such asJi-caroten, a-tokoferol, vitamine C and flavonoid compounds.
