The existence of relative clauses in Indonesian is still debated by many people, because yang is not relative pronoun, unlike the English relative pronoun who or which, but a ligature which does not have the argument status. In this paper I attempt to describe relative clauses in Indonesian in which I argue that yang has no argument status. Thus, relative clauses in Indonesian are typical, unlike their counterparts in English.
