Isi artikel
Social marketing is a key strategy for population health promotion. Social marketing principles and approaches are entirely consistent with the basic tenets of effective health education and health promotion planning. Within SOPHE, there are a substantial number of professionals who are expert in the application of social marketing to health promotion problems. Yet, differences in terminology and orientation between health promotion and social marketing can contribute to competing approaches in addressing public health problems. This need not be the case. Books and other resources that bridge social marketing and health promotion disciplines advance health promotion practice by fostering professional understanding of common strategies. In this issue, we have selected two books for review that contribute to our understanding. The first addresses the marketing of public health, and the second offers a practical step-by-step approach.
