Cirata darn which is located in Citarunz river between two other large darns, Saguling and Jatiluhur, is the largest Concrete Faced Rockfill Darn (CFRD) in South East Asia, having 125 m high. The dam was completed in July 1987 and the first impounding was commenced in September 1987. A number of instruments were already installed in the darn body, such as foundation pneunzatic piezometers, inclined inclinometers, concrete jointrneters, perimetric jointrneters, concrete strainnieters, V-notch, etc. to nzonitor the dani behaviour during the first impounding and its reservoir operation. Based on the data of instrunzent readings from its completion and the first impounding in 1987 up to 2005, in general, the seepage tends to be constant, the settlement relatively very small and tends to be constant, no significant deformation of the concrete faced joints, but some attention have to be paid at the left abutment, due to the increase of ground water table, measured froni observation wells. Unfortunately, after 28 years, some instruments, such as accelerographs, the read out units of inclinorneters, pneumatic piezometer, and concrete joint meters were damaged. Nevertheless, from the remaining data reading instruments, the Cirata dam is still under control.
