The power needed for weeding with human although animal power was veiy large, about (40-50) man power ha-i and almost 350 hours ha-i respectively Tractor as altematif power, can replace the animal and human power in agricultural sector. The majority of Indonesian fanner have a narrow land and terracing. By this way, the little tractor considering more suitable, because have high mobility and work capacity The whole activities were separated into two stages. The first stage were planning and design which was conducted in Power and Machineiy Laboratoiy also Workshop. The second stage was a study of the performance of the tractor, was conducted in Experimental Station, Agricultural Faculty of Brawijaya University Malang. The result of the research was one wheel tractor equipped byrotaiy, length 190 cm, wide 40cm, high 85 cm and weight 85 kg had been succeeded constnict as a weeder. That’s tractor have work capability between (5 - 10) cm depth, with fuel consumption (76.34 - 81.00) ml minute-I at rotating speed of rotary (1500 - 3000) rpm. The tractor was powered by 4 (four) stroke gasoline engine, 3.5 HP.
