There is a scene in robert bolt's play. A man for all seasons, in which sir thomas more and richard are discussing the latter's future. At one point, sir thomas brings ip the prospect of richard becoming a teacher. Richard cannot understand how anyone can become great if no one knows about what you are doing. More's response contains veritable wisdom. The people yhat matter, "You, your pupils, your frinds, Gid" they would know and that is a very important public. David hansen's superbook, the call to teach likewise crystallizes veritable wisdom for both prcaticing or prospective teachers and veritable wisdom for both practicing or prospective teachers and teacher educators. it is a most gripping and engaging scholarly book. Wonderful nuggets of insight about vocation inspired teaching appear on each page .....
