Japan, China, and India are major rival for influencein South Asia. The countries of Northeast Asia, meanwhile, have fallen inti a state of mutual distrust. Rusia countries of the former Soviet Union. And the United Stated has poor ratings in countries with large Muslim populations. These are among the findings from " Asia Barometer", a comparative survey of public opinion launched in 2003, which has revealed how poeple around Asia view Japan and other major countries. In this article i will introduce some of the survey result and consider their significance in assesing the state of international politic in Asia and Japan's Asia dilpomacy.
