Isi artikel
Statistic on gross domestic product show that Japan's expansion is still on track. Real growth in2006 came in at 2.2%. Private capital investment was the economy's most powerful engine, moving 7.6% above the previos year's level and accounting for 1.1 pionts of the growth. Net export ware also a major factor, contributing 0.8 point. But private consumption grew more slowly than over the previous two years, advancing by a modest 0.9% and contributing just 0.5 point. In this way, while private sector domestic demand is still expanding as a whole and companies are investing briskly, consumer are not spending vigorously. This has prompted comments about how the growth is hard for people to sense, and it has fueled complaints about widening income disparaties.
