The quality in higher education has been focussed, on adapting to industrial quality system. Traditionally, academic freedom was seen as the requirement of excellent in higher education. In more recent times measure of quality control was imposed on higher but its adoption was superficial compared to industry. Presently, the practice In higher education Is deteriorating in management of institutions, because of lack between quality management techniques and educational processes and made to preserve the traditional values of academic freedom and collegial modes of operation. To be relevant to society, universities must grapple with the problems that are significant to society. Today, societies throughout the world are addressing the concept of competitiveness. Universities can contribute to increase competitiveness in three ways 1) education, 2) research, and 3) internal management philosophy that has spread throughout the world. Unfortunately, the revolutionary change goes unrecognized in the curricula of most universities. Research activities have not radically changed, despite the concern in society over the competitiveness of our economy.
