Rotarix" is an oral live attenuated human monovalent rotavirus vaccine of the GIP[8] strain. It is safe and effective in protecting against moderate to severe rotavirus gastroenteritis. From a medical viewpoint, it will benefit children enormously by reducing global morbidity and socioeconomic burden, and preventing hospitalization and mortality from rotavirus gastroenteritis.
