Isi artikelThe article deals with the absence of affixation in the verbs of Rongga language and its other characteristics related to the isolation type and the relational changes of grammatical arguments from the point of view of Lexical-Functional Grammar (LFG). Rongga distinguishes between semantic and grammatical relations. The changes of the grammatical relations in Rongga occurs through constructional changes such as word order in clauses, phrase markers, and serialization. There is evidence of an accusative pattern: A and S behave alike, different from P in its structural posisition, control, and relativization. The lexical mapping model normally used in the Lexical Mapping Theory in LFG cannot be used entirely in Rongga due to: (a) the absence of morphological processes for the changes of the argument structure and (b) the emergence of the mapping effect resulting from the construction where it appears.
